I joined Esh Group in July 2009 as one of two IS Group Support Apprentices. In this role I was required to undertake a NVQ Level 2 IT Practitioner course. In July 2010 I received news that I had successfully passed this course and Esh Group gave me the chance to further my education even more. They offered to pay for me to go on and do the NVQ Level 3 in the same course I was very grateful for the opportunity and I am currently awaiting my results.
As part of my role as IS Support Apprentice I get involved with various things such as monitoring energy usage within Esh House, providing hardware and software support for users, helping to manage the IS Assets (Database), configuring and install routers on various sites, ordering Printer Consumables (toners, paper etc), setting up and inducting new members of staff (user profile administration). When doing this I get to travel around different construction sites and our 4 main offices in Leeds, Kendal and Cramlington as well as being based at our Head Office in Bowburn.
One of the main reasons I enjoy working for Esh Group is because of the people who work here I have met some really nice people during my time at Esh we are like a big family rather than a load of work colleagues.
I enjoy attending the Annual Family Funday as you get the chance to meet other people from the group who you would never normally meet. I also interact with some other members of staff by organising thinks such as 5 aside games and cricket matches.
I am really grateful to Esh Group for giving me so many opportunities and helping me move my career forward I am now looking into doing a website design course at Teesside University.
